My birthday is also 9.11 (10th anniversary of my 33rd b-day). Thank you for posting your experience that day...and those years that followed. I just recall a certain numbness that happened back in 2001 and how it has lessened each year since...and that wincing thing. Still happens, but not as much. I was working at Kinko's at that time and knew some of my 'regulars' had people that were victims...gut wrenching doesn't even come close to describing it. Thank you for your words, and enjoy your birthday. The crazy, unthinkable thing had happened. It was amazing that I was not flying that morning because I flew about three days a week at that time. My husband called me out of the shower because a plane had flown into the WTC. Crazy. I went downstairs to see the news. I saw the first tower begin to crumble into dust. "What was that? What just happened?" On my way to the office I stopped to buy you flowers. The woman in the flower shop said, "I feel like we're at war." I replied, "We are at war."
