Yea, you heard me, change the world. Too many times, the brakes get put on the process of change: sometimes out of fear… People have an idea of who you are and what you’ll accomplish. What are you waiting for? Just waiting for things to happen, not setting anything in motion. You’ve heard this phrase so many times, “It’s all about timing”. We all have a soft spot. And I don’t mean *a soft spot for someone else*. I mean our own tender fragile spot that shouldn’t be touched. I have a strong belief that each of us has the capacity to do anything is we wish. What keeps us from reaching for our dreams? We all have defunct mental treasures that we hold close, whether they are outdated or never ever served us at all. Why do we cling to the useless? What do you do when everything seems to be falling apart? Moving forward and through is often times your best strategy and also the only way to find what you’re looking for. Your attempt at perfection is exhausting me. I mean, really? Here’s a secret. I been very surprised over the years by what painting has taught me about life—and I don’t mean about appreciating form and color. Painting is the one thing I can’t multi-task my way through. It demands my complete and undivided attention. Maybe that’s because an unhurried mind is more observant. These are some things that Painting has whispered in my ear while I’ve put my brush to canvas. Yea, you heard me. This moment–this stinky, metal on metal, fit last season and now it doesn’t moment. |
