I spend a lot of time working hard to avoid a certain emotional predicament. I dodge and head fake it, hide silently without moving in hopes it will pass and even lie to myself once it’s found me. We all get that pang when we want something. You may call it passion or drive but I think we’re really talking about a fire that is set by a far more powerful accelerant. That accelerant is *the little ache*. Things don’t always go right. You’re not the only one this happens to. I hate the way it feels—the gaff I make, the thing I wish I’d said instead, the action I meant to take but didn’t. Very often, there is a moment, a physical place in time where things change. A shift takes place and it may feel subtle at the time but the results can be significant. Cup…empty. You are an epic tale. Full of suspense, full of struggle, full of great passion. I cannot put you down and I feel the sadness and the victories right along with you. |
